The Active Shooter Now!^TM Training Team

Our team consists of former, retired, and current police officers with “real world” experience. Together, we have well over 50 years of law enforcement experience.  Our experience includes a range of investigating incidents such as workplace violence, homicide, murder-suicide, shootings, assaults, battery, arson, rape, burglaries, carjacking, and criminal threats.   

Not only have we investigated many crimes, we have been in officer involved shootings and many struggles with violent persons. For example, one of our instructors was involved in an active shooter incident. Another was involved in an incident where he was nearly killed by gunfire when a group of gang members ambushed him and his partner. In 1999, we had the opportunity to interview four students who survived the infamous “Columbine Massacre” in Columbus, Ohio.

We have worked special assignments ranging from Patrol, S.W.A.T., Homicide, Field Training Officer, Crime Suppression Unit, Crime Analysis Unit, and many other special units. Our team has hundreds of hours of experience testifying in preliminary hearings, criminal trials, civil trials, parole hearings, and administrative hearings. Several of our staff hold Bachelor and Master degrees.

Why should I take this course?

It is a common and misunderstood myth that the police will respond quickly and prevent acts of violence from occurring. This is WRONG and the media has over glamorized the response of police. When police respond to an active shooter situation, they often have to wait for back-up or wait to devise a plan. As former, current, and retired police officers, it is embedded into our culture to wait for back-up. Meanwhile, you risk being killed. Just ask the victims of Columbine and Virginia Tech. Police were at the scene, however too many people were killed while waiting for help. Don’t depend on other people to save your life and the life of your fellow co-workers or employees. Waiting for someone to save you can be FATAL.

What will you cover?

We will cover topics such as identifying the warning signs to violent behavior, the importance of having a plan in place, planning, negotiations, survival first aid, dealing with the media, and the aftermath. We will offer suggestions SPECIFIC to the work environment of our clients. And last, we will discuss and apply several case studies such as the “Columbine Massacre” and “Virginia Tech Shooting.”
