Guard Card Training

Palm Springs, California

Sundahl & Associates provides guard card training in the Palm Springs area.  In order to work as a security officer/security guard, the applicant must obtain the guard card.

Five Easy Steps to Getting your Guard Card for $172.00

1. Mail us a money order of $50.00 or render payment through PayPal, one week prior to the start of the course.

Once we receive your payment, you will be contacted within 48 hours through the e-mail on file with PayPal and informed that you are registered for the course. If you do not receive a response, please e-mail the instructor, Shaun Sundahl at ssundahl@crimebullet.com or call/text him on his cell (909) 525-8925.

2. Attend our guard card course.

3. Get fingerprinted at the Cathedral City Police Department. Pay the fingerprint operator $71.00.

4. Click here to complete the guard card application online (quickest way to get the guard card). You will pay the state a $51.00 license fee.

5. Wait 4-6 weeks for your name to post on the BSIS website. Print your name. This is your temporary copy of your guard card.  Now you can work as an unarmed security guard. Wait 1-2 weeks and BSIS will mail you the hard copy.  The hard copy replaces the temporary copy.

How much will everything cost?

There are no hidden fees. Everything will cost $172.00. The term “everything,” means the guard card license fee, fingerprinting fees, license fees, and classroom fees are included with the $172.00 cost.

I don’t have a credit card or don’t feel comfortable paying online, what can I do?

The system we use to collect credit card payments is through PayPal.  PayPal guarantees your payment to us will be safe. If you’re still not convinced, that’s okay. Please send a $50.00 money order or cashier’s check to:

Sundahl & Associates

4195 Chino Hills Pkwy #76

Chino Hills, CA 91709

We must receive payment at least 7 calendar days prior to the start of the course. We are not responsible for any lost payment. Please use a US Postal Service tracking number or registered mail. Also include your contact information (address, e-mail, phone number, etc.)

Can I pay the day of the course?

We’re sorry, but the answer is “no.” We have to prearrange the seminar room according to the number of attendees who have rendered payment. A rendered payment assures us there is a strong likelihood the student will not miss the course.

Is seating limited?

Yes! We only have 10 seats available per class. Rendering a timely payment reserves your seat.

Where is the guard card course held?

In most cases, the guard card course is held at:

The Court Yard

Conference Room

777 East Tahquitz Canyon

Palm Springs, California 92262

Please do not contact staff at the Court Yard.

Can you get a guard card if you have a criminal record?

It depends.  The state will use its discretion with issuing you a guard card.  The state does not release the criteria for those who have a criminal record.

In most cases the state will deny your application for the guard card:

1. If you are on probation or parole, or

2. Have been convicted of a felony in the past 7 years or,

3. Have certain misdemeanors within the past 3-5 years,

*Note that misdemeanors are on a case-by-case basis, but it appears felonies will not be considered. If the state denies your application, we do not refund any fees.

What do I need to bring the day of the class?

1. Identification.

2. Pen or Pencil.

3. Paper for note taking.

Do you provide job placement?

No. Our company is strictly job training.

Do you have any classes sooner than the one scheduled?

No, however for a class fee of $150.00, the instructor can schedule a one-on-one course with you as his schedule will allow. Typically, he is very flexible (24/7). The total fee would cost you $272.00. This arrangement is for those who cannot attend the scheduled date or those who need the guard card course ASAP.

Do you provide any discounts?

We offer a 50% discount to those currently enrolled at Kaplan College. That means a Kaplan student would only pay a total of $147.00 in fees!
